This seminar will come from the Word of God.

Introduction:

-Our philosophy grows out of our theology.

-Everything begins with God.

-The Word of God is the foundation for everything we believe and teach.

-If you don’t have a Bible-centered ministry, you don’t have a ministry at all.

Don’t base your ministry on the objective of success, but base it on the objective of obedience. God blesses obedience more than results.
God gives the increase. 1 Corinthians 3:7 says “So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.” We will not be rewarded based on our success in the ministry, but based on our labor for the Lord. 1 Corinthians 3:8: “Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.”

We are laborers together with God (1 Corinthians 3:9). And Christ works with us (Mark 16:20).

We are never alone. Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, “And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” Wherever you go, and whatever you do, Jesus is with you. Are you laboring for God?

The first topic of this seminar is evangelism. Jesus said, “Go ye therefore…” Why did He say this? He said this because of verse 18. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”

This brings us to the first principle of evangelism.

1. Recognize that the power is in Him.

If we try to preach or serve God in our own strength, we will fail. Therefore, we must pray for His power. See Acts 4:31. We must NEVER preach, witness, or do any form of service to God without praying first. We cannot save people’s souls. We must pray that the Lord will convict their hearts. We can only give them the Word of God so that God can give the conviction that comes from the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The power that we need is not in ourselves, but in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
The power is in God’s Word. Trust His Word only.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

We can’t do this, but God’s Word can! Rely only on the power of God’s Word in your preaching and evangelism. And IF we see results, we must give God the glory for that.

2.We must be obedient to Christ’s command.

Jesus said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (verse 19). It is Christ’s command that we go and make disciples. We will do this by leading them to the Lord Jesus Christ. Only a saved person can become a disciple. A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ. Part 2 will deal with the subject of discipleship. But we must first make disciples by bringing them to Christ.

-We must be obedient to the commission of Christ to preach the gospel to the whole world.

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Luke 24:46-48 “And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”

Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

This is the commandment of Christ that we must be obedient to.

-Jerusalem: We must reach our own town.

-Judaea: We must reach the area and the region in which we live.

-Samaria: We must go to neighboring regions, including where people are our enemies.

-Uttermost part of the earth: We must go to the ends of the earth, to the far reaches of the globe, with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
If we are going to be obedient to Christ’s command, then we must do these things.

3. We must preach God’s Word to them.

We are told to “teach all nations” (verse 19). What are we to teach them? We must teach them God’s Word only! Remember, that is where the power is. The Word of

God is the most important thing we can teach anyone.
-Don’t preach man’s ideas.
-Don’t preach your ideas!
-Don’t preach a philosophy man has created.

Preach God’s Word! This and only this will bring people to Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:13-15 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

How will anyone hear without a preacher? God is looking for preachers to send across the whole world to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. God is looking for people who will be dedicated to the task of evangelism.

Will you be a preacher to evangelize the lost in your town, in your area, in other regions, and around the world?

2 Timothy 4:5 “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
